The
GEA Association was officially established in
1991 to divulge the psycho-analytic theory and
praxis accomplished by Doc. Ada Cortese and her
team through long years of practice.
This cultural Association aims the
spreading of both psycho-analytic thought and
philosophic-experimental method. Its main objects
are:
a) the spreading of a
psycho-analytic, philosophic-experimental
culture, in fact GEA represent a cultural meeting
point as well as a psycho-philosophical training
institute. GEA organises Self-Centred Evolving
Groups, lectures, full-immersion stages, groups
of research , seminars specialised publications
and periodicals.
b) the creation of professional
psycho-analytic" up to date " courses
for managers, tutors, teachers, health and social
workers, psychologists and any other who can draw
benefit from the adoption of a psycho- analytic
approach.
c) The organisation of professional
training courses to become a "GEA
operator" (i.e. trainer of Self-Centred
Evolving Groups) according to both evolving
psycho-analytic thought and
philosophic-experimental method.
In Italian the letters GEA stand for
"Gruppi Evolutivi Autocentrati", i.e.
Self-Centred Evolving Groups. The group itself is
the very symbol of each participant's inner voice
and all its efforts are directed accordingly, so
that no member would grow indifferent to the
other. The GEA group is more than a conventional
psycho-therapy group: to one hand it represent a
sort of training on how to resort to the inner
sense of democracy - i.e. Inner Democracy -, on
the other a conscience expansion at both
universal and social level. The group's main
object lies in the capability of each participant
to welcome " the Unlike" at any level
